This not only saves time and effort but it also reduces 'ice burn' (which strips food of vital nutrients and vitamins as it defrosts), helps eliminate the unpleasant mix of food odours and ensures your frozen produce stays free flowing.

Frostguard Technology monitors door openings in order to calculate when it`s necessary to defrost, rather than working on a 'time' method like most refrigerators. It also utilises a pre chill function to lower the freezer temperature prior to the defrost cycle.

 

2. Electronic Temperature Sensors

Electronic Temperature Sensors monitor fresh food and freezer temperature, which can be seen at a glance on the temperature management panel. What`s more, whereas most refrigerators simply blow cold air into the top of the refrigerator, GE`s air tower dispenses cool air throughout the refrigerator to deliver cool air only when needed, keeping food fresher for longer.

Temperature adjustment is simple too, using the up front control panel, you can select the exact temperature of both refrigerator and freezer and rest assured that this temperature will be maintained by no less than seven different thermostats.

Introducing the tallest Ice and Water dispenser which requires only the slightest touch, so as to be gentle on your glassware. It also offers a door alarm, a child lock and of course a light, which will gently fade once dispensing is complete.

a)	ExpressThaw setting will use warm air to accurately defrost food before reverting to a refrigerated crisper to ensure the most hygienic storage conditions.

b)	ExpressChill setting allows ultra quick cooling; for example, a bottle of wine can be chilled from room temperature to 1°C in around 20 minutes.

c)	SelectTemp is used to accurately select the most suitable temperature for the food being stored. SImply select the food type and the refrigerator will control the temperature accordingly.

The Refrigerator Refreshment Centre provides easy and illuminated access to drinks without having to open the refrigerator door and also provides a sturdy serving counter. This provides quicker and simpler access and it also reduces the loss of cold air, which typically occurs when the refrigerator door is opened.

 

10. SmartWater™ Plus

GE`s Smart Water Plus Filtration System filters both ice and water, removing 99% of all impurities. The filter is located within the refrigerator so replacement is easy. Each filter will last for approximately one year
